We were sitting in the bus having breakfast and looked out the window…   This was for real! We laughed so hard.  Never thought we’d see this one 😀

Feathers, diamonds, glitter, rhinestones, flowers, hats, belts, boots, heels. . . And I’ve only just touched the surface! The place was amazing. This that I’ve just described was Miss Ruby’s dressing room. It was so fun and pink! Thank you so much for y’alls  very, very sweet hospitality. We had an absolute blast and can’t wait to see you all again!

My thoughts on salad:  “I’m not a Caterpillar, why am I eating this leaf?”

Mannhiem Steamroller In Concert

Posted by on Jan 1, 2013 in blog | 0 comments

Saturday night we saw Mannhiem Steamroller live in concert! It was so cool! And they were just as good in concert as the CD’s. It was so interesting to see what all sounds the instruments and synthesizers would make. But I did find one thing out, those synthesizer thingy majigers are something to fear, they make some noises that would scare a deaf giraffe. There were only six traveling MS band members and nine that were hired locally. I though that was a kinda cool idea. Our seats were on the fifth balcony and Mom is still on crutches from her knee surgery, so we took the elevator up to the fifth floor, then asked a lady what the easiest way to get to our seats was and she said “Well, take the elevator back down to forth floor, walk all the way around to the right side (the elevator was on the far left) take the steps up to the balcony, then up to the forth row, then you’re all the way in the middle” poor Ma, and that place ain’t no little bitty thing. Needless to say she got her work out for the day. 😉 The evening was just all together a blast!

Okie Snow

IMG_5972It snowed here on Christmas day we were all excited, but let me tell you folks something. Snow in Oklahoma might not look the same as snow if you’re from anywhere North of here. 😉 You can still see the dead grass sticking up out of it and anywhere there’s dirt, the snow melts giving you a mud puddle that you’re most likely going to fall in at a later date. 😉 So in other words, we don’t make very many snowmen around our place. The biggest snow I’ve ever seen in my whole life was about eight inches, and that was in ’09. It snowed again today (New Years Day) but I’m tellin’ you something, I’m a little tired of this kind of snowin’, there isn’t even enough for snow ice cream! 🙂

Christmas at McDonalds

Hurry rush, one more stop, no, I didn’t mean stop light! Oh yes, I almost forgot something for my fifth cousin on my aunts side, or is it my sixteenth cousin on my grandfathers uncles side, I’m not sure anyway I’ve GOT to get something! At times like these, it’s no wonder McDonald’s stays in business. “Hello, what can I get for you today?” “I would like, um” (thought) ‘I’m not very hungry.’ “How ’bout a chicken nugget happy meal” “I’m sorry ma’am, we’re out” “cheese burger?” “I’m so sorry Miss, but we’re out of that too” “WHAT, how can this be? Ok fine, just a hamburger” “what would you like on that?” “Pickles and mayo” (thought) ‘at least I found something they do have.’ “hate to brake it to you, but, we don’t have any mayo” “YOUR OUT OF THAT TOO!”  “No ma’am, we just don’t have any.”

And you wonder why people have road rage:)

Pumpkin Spice Cake

Posted by on Nov 21, 2012 in blog | 0 comments

With the Holidays right upon us, I thought this recipe would be a big hit.  I don’t like to make desserts that call for mixes of any sort, but this one is well worth it.  Pumpkin Spice Cake has that wonderful something that just goes with the crisp fresh air, brown leaves crunching under your feet, and the smell of turkey in the oven.  It’s not the most beautiful thing you ever seen, but if you just close your eyes and follow your nose, you’ll be surprised:)

Pumpkin Spice Cake

1 package spice cake mix (reserve 1 cup)

½ c. butter or margarine melted

1 egg

Mix and pat in a 9×13 oven safe pan.

3 cup or 29oz. can pumpkin

2 eggs

2/3 c. milk

1 cup sugar

1½ t. cinnamon

Mix and pour over first layer.

1 cup (reserved) cake mix

¼ cup butter or margarine softened (not melted)

¼ cup sugar

1½ t. cinnamon

Mix till crumbly and scatter in ½ to 1 teaspoonfuls on top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 min.  Sets up when refrigerated.
